Physical Description:

Emile is a fit enough boy. He doesn't have extra muscles hanging around him, but he has enough to get by and not be a physical weakling. He has longish black hair, and generally sports a sort of scruffy beard. Never a full beard, because that would look awful. More like just enough hairs to show there's something there. Then again, that's probably all he could grow anyway. He has very kind light brown eyes, with flecks of blue and green hidden in them.

Personality:

Emile is a studious fellow. He was put in Ravenclaw for his love of learning. He will listen to anyone talk about a subject. Especially if they care about it passionately enough. He hates to disagree with people, considering it possibly the rudest thing imaginable. His mother's teachings are ingrained into his every movement. He treats everyone around him with care and respect. He would hate for anyone to think he wasn't a kind individual.

As far as relationships go, Emile has never had one. He is much too shy to just approach someone and ask for a date. Nor does he hold any preferrence for either gender. He considers everyone to be beautiful. We are all God's creations, and in his eyes, no one is repulsive, and most especially not because of their gender.

Emile is a gentle being for the most part. However, when provoked into anger, he can be a force to be reckoned with. Thankfully, it's very hard to make him thus. Emile mostly just wants to get through the day and not cause anyone any pain. He hates to be the cause of other people's pains. He has such a gentle disposition.

History:

Emile Vance is a halfblood. His father fell for a brilliant muggle-born witch during his years at Hogwarts, and the two got married. His parents, Alex and Anita Vance, raised him to be a good boy, along with his younger sister, Sara. Emile grew up in a peaceful household, pretty oblivious to the fact that there are those out there who would despise him for being a half blood. His mother raised him to be a very loving boy. Emile will befriend anyone, though he can be rather shy about it. He holds no hate in his heart, for anyone. Even the Slytherins.

Upon receiving his Hogwarts letter he was ecstatic. His mother feared for him when he showed very few signs of magical ability. However, the letter arrived, and Emile was ecstatic. He had always talked about going to Hogwarts as a child, and now he was actually going. He had bounced off the walls with glee for weeks after receiving the letter.

At Hogwarts Emile made a fair few friends, though he was rather shy and tended to keep to himself. He learned everything with a sincere passion, making himself one of the top students in his class. Certainly not the best, but he was pretty good in his own right. He is embarrassed about his talents and tends to not flaunt them to others.

When Emile was made prefect he was ecstatic beyond belief. He hadn't thought he had done well enough in school for such an honor. His mother, of course, thought otherwise. She thought Dumbledore had chosen just the right person for the job. She was bursting with pride for her son, though she did remind him never to abuse his powers. His first year as a prefect went beautifully, and he was really starting to warm up to the idea. He didn't dare dream about being Head Boy. He was content to enjoy the comforts of being a prefect.
